Adding hyperlinks to images

Hyperlinks give you additional information without increasing your workload or the size of the DjVu file. Instead of including all of the supplemental information in the file, you can easily direct users to where they can find it.

DjVu Solo provides three types of hyperlinks: rectangular, oval, and polygonal. By default, hyperlinked areas appear surrounded by a thin, solid line. For rectangular hyperlinks, you can change the outline style or highlight them with color.

To create a rectangular or oval hyperlink:

  1. On the DjVu Solo toolbar:

    Click the Rectangular Hyperlink button.

    Or

    Click the Oval Hyperlink button.

  2. Point to the upper-left corner of the area you want to designate as the hyperlink, hold down the left mouse button, and drag the mouse to create a rectangle that surrounds the area.

  3. When you release the mouse button, the Hyperlink Properties dialog box appears. Define the appearance and behavior of the hyperlink, and click OK.

For more information about defining hyperlink appearance and behavior, see Defining properties of hyperlinks and highlights.

To create a polygonal hyperlink:

  1. Click the Polygon Hyperlink button on the toolbar.

  2. Click where you want to place the first vertex of the polygon that will surround the hyperlinked area.

  3. Move the mouse to the place at which you want the next vertex to appear, and click it again.

  4. Continue to create the vertices you want. When you want to complete the polygon, double-click the first vertex.

  5. When the Hyperlink Properties dialog box appears, define the appearance and behavior of the hyperlink, and then click OK.
